Ok let's follow your idea through to it's conclusion.

We put a large enough tariff on imported Chinese steel to make British steel competitive. We invest huge amounts to restart our steel plants.
Now our manufacturers have to buy much more expensive domestic steel or tariff laden Chinese steel so their products are no longer competitive, also our steel cannot compete abroad.
Now our manufacturers go broke because they can't sell their more expensive products and the steel plants have no one to buy their steel and they go bust too.
Brilliant, and for a double whammy we now have the debt from restarting the steel plants too.

Child beauty pageants are pretty horrible, but they at least don't dress 13 year old girls as strippers and teach them how to act like whores.

urkey is holding a referendum to make Erdogan the Supreme Chancellor of the Ottoman Reich. They're sending out politicians to European countries to give rousing speeches to Turkish citizens (emigrated Turks all have double passports and are considered Turkish citizens for eternity) to vote to make Erdogan a full-blown dictator. The Netherlands said "lol fuck off" and banned a politicians flight, because they don't want to let Turkey turn a sovereign state into a battleground for foreign politics. The politician sneaked in over the border with an armed escort. Since the Netherlands has the national elections coming wednesday, the government doesn't want to look weak and isn't backing off, and they declared her persona non grata. Special Forces intercepted her convoy, disarmed her personal guard and is going to arrest her the second she leaves her armed car. Turkey is mad as fuck and is calling the Dutch filthy nazis. Roaches are chimping out at the Turkish consulate where said minister was supposed to give a speech. Neither nation wants to back off, so this is turning into a bigger and bigger shitstorm by the minute
