Re: Baltimore
theres an ultra-lefty girl i knew from baltimore, checked out her feed yesterday to see whats up, no praise for trump but plenty of trashing the local baltimore government and rat situation. hard for me to say this is a winning issue for trump but i suspect he'll get more sympathy from the locals than the corporate press would like you to believe

My complaint is people who think that it is caused by inferior races who just want handouts when lack of investment is the real cause.
Voting Democrat is going to be the only option in deprived areas because Republicans say things like ''you should work harder'' and they attack any form of welfare spending or infrastructure investment as encouraging laziness.
If you are poor and living in a shithole you're not going to vote for the party of tax cuts and reduced government spending are you?
Doesn't mean the Dems are responsible for the mess just because the poor feel like they are the only party that cares.
I'm not convinced that either team really cares about anything but re-election.
Try the same shit for 5 decades and say there is no way to fix it.
It's absolute bullshit. Loser mentality.
It's great for keeping people down. Saying they can't succeed. You're a victim.

Focus on the middle class, working families and small businesses... sounds like a more sensible National Review think-piece.
Accusations of 'crony capitalism' are just the economic right's version of "we haven't tried real socialism." Silly True Scotsman nonsense.
Further, going forward we will see Puerto Rico type corruption in government going on in Baltimore. It will show those in charge of Baltimore are exploiting those most in need.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Maybe... but I don't think district reps in Washington are "in charge" of their districts. I could easily believe that Baltimore's mayor and municipal government are total failures, and hacks. Attacking the federal rep for Baltimore's districts for the cities failings is absurd, though.C-Mag wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 12:36 pmI disagree.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 12:03 pmA quote from Cummings on his economic outlook. I mean Pugh's whole debacle over her children's book side hustle was an absurdist, surreal study in outrage politics... but she went on indefinite paid leave, which is, in my opinion, worse than the original offense.
But that isn't on Cummings.

I'm betting on it leading to Cummings as well, his family and some nice little Non-Profits.

Keep in mind... Cummings was also rep from 2008-2014, when Baltimore crime was a lot lower. Does he get credit for that? Or only blame for the post 2014 spike?
Might as well blame Trump for the crime spike if we are in the business of hearing the hoof beats of Zebras.

History of Non Profit corruption in the US. Cummings wife runs a Non Profit. Assumption that most politicians are corrupt. Trump strategery on issues like this.
I'd give Cummings credit for the lower crime pre 2014 when he was in office. My rule on politicians is you get credit and blame for shit happens while you are in the position.

"Other" non profits aren't the issue, and general "assumptions" without evidence is what we generally mock as "feels."
Frankly, it is crazy to give Cummings credit for low crime levels which can better be explained by a nationwide trend of falling crime rates that usually attend a strong economy (the lowest rates being in 2011 and 2013, I think, when the recovery was in full swing). And there is good evidence that crime spikes in major cities since 2014 are the result of under policing in reaction to BLM malcontents (which Cummings isn't, despite being the head of the black caucus).
Ya'll attribute way too much power and malice to politicians. The left may suffer from acute TDS, but chronic, generalized Politician Derangement Syndrome is just as silly.
