The people who are really getting screwed here is Team Sweden and Team USA, Team Canada is the undisputed best on best Olympic Champions, back to back, it's just a lost opportunity for the Americans and/or the Swedes to get a shot at the title, if it's not best on best, it's a fake championship, nobody will get the title away from Canada, unless and until the NHL players are back, which, fine by me, no tickey, no laundry, no NHL players, no title shot.

I don't know about you, but waiting forever for the next title shot, whenever that happens to be, that's lame as fuck. It's been four years ieady, I'm sick of waiting.

In terms of revenue generated, the only non American sport which is ahead of the NHL, is the English Premiership, but other than that, the NHL is bigger than every other Eurosports league, including Formula One.

Cricket doesn't even make the list.

Hockey is growing, but I don't see how it can possibly displace soccer and cricket. It's not a poor person's sport like the top two. Also, soccer is closer to the universal human game of kicking a ball around a field. It's more fundamental, even if they overlayed a lot of rules upon it.

The thing is, just because a sport is popular with billions of poor people doesn't make it good or profitable.
