James Garfield. Assassinated but more brave and manly than most presidents these past 100 years.
"Garfield opposed Confederate secession, served as a major general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, and fought in the battles of Middle Creek, Shiloh, and Chickamauga. He was first elected to Congress in 1862 to represent Ohio's 19th District. Throughout Garfield's extended congressional service after the Civil War, he firmly supported the gold standard and gained a reputation as a skilled orator. "

Alpha is not equivalent to being successful at business. Intelligence and charisma are the big traits you need there.
Alpha is the last vestiges of what our pre-homo sapiens ancestors had to a silverback.
If you just want to pick out people who accomplished great things, then I'd argue the word means little.

Good point. The camera's in those days took like 90 seconds to take a picture. Can you imagine him having to hold that pose?

You just defined the term as 'someone who can inspire people to follow him'.Speaker to Animals wrote:Alpha is not equivalent to being successful at business. Intelligence and charisma are the big traits you need there.

If DSL's "alpha" refers to a hyper-aggressive moron, then yeah, I agree - they're dying out quickly, and should.

I don't really like presidents, but if I had to pick one, I'd say Lincoln. Biggest middle finger to the establishment of all time.heydaralon wrote:Who is your favorite president.
