I'm sorry to hear that dude! My grandmother passed earlier this year at 98 and it hit my mom like a ton of bricks. She kept her faculties well into her 90's, but she was in a lot of pain. Hope you are doing ok, buddy.
I’m fine, just feeling a little older now.

My grandfather was kind of a dick, but he always had some interesting World War 2 stories. I always enjoyed hearing them. He was in the engineer corps of the army (don't know the official name), and went to France, then the Pacific. Stayed in the Philippines for awhile after the war helping them rebuild. Was your Grandfather a veteran? I imagine he probably had some good stories too.

He was a pilot in the pacific theater, but I don’t know if he ever saw combat. He refused to talk about it to the family. I think he left with a non-combat injury of some kind.

Sorry to hear that Grumps. I never really got to know my grandfathers, they both died by the time I was 10. Both had interesting wars and I would have loved to talk to them about it. My fathers father was a career soldier but he never spoke about the war except to say ''I lost a lot of good freinds and don't want to talk about it''.
Still, 93 was a good innings. Let's hope we all get to that age.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Trust me, I know how that feels, it sucks. Wish you the best on that, especially if you were close. Remember the good times, memories are the best thing to keep someone who passed alive.

Well if he wasn't in combat, he probably was with or near what my grandfather did, "The Hump" it was the Indo-China flight through the mountain ranges. The mortality rate there was over 50%...

If he was combat, yeah... he had stories... I had to pry them out of my grandfather as he got older.

I still miss him.
