The fucked up thing is how they can take something good, cultural exchange, and turn it into a justification for genocide and destruction. It's a good thing to allow small numbers of people from other (stable and compatible) cultures to immigrate here. Cultural exchange in that context is a good thing.

I ask them to perform this thought experiment: Picture a country that isn't in the West. Picture Saudi Arabia for instance. Ask them how the Saudis would react if within 2 generations, their country went from being majority Sunni muslim to becoming 33-40 percent Christian. How would they react? Well or poorly? How did Lebanon fare with its flood of Palestinian Sunnis? How did The DRC fare after its flood of Hutu refugees from Rwanda? Immigration is not good in and of itself. If immigrants can add value and offer a different perspective that improves society, it is good. Even if some immigrants can do this, it still does not mean that we should change the demographic makeup of a country in the span of a couple of decades. As long as our country is a place that people want to immigrate to, not emigrate from, I'm going to assume we are better. And we almost always are. Immigrants are generally fleeing dirty, disgusting places bereft of value. They do not just get our gibs and security because they are diverse. In fact, bringing diversity to a good place can make it far less good. A molecule of shit in a cup of distilled water adds diversity, but it doesn't mean the water is now safer or better. If we are letting in immigrants, they should be self sufficient, wealthy enough to be able to add value to our society, and not sponge up welfare, and they should speak English and appreciate our culture and heritage.
