This is your upper limit:
I guarantee it will come to that if these ridiculous unfunded liabilities go federal. NOBODY is going to pay you more than we pay a guy who lost all his arms and legs to an IED in Afghanistan. Nobody.

I don’t know who ‘you’ is here, I haven’t asked anyone to pay me more than anyone else, certainly not disabled quadruple amputee veterans. They shouldn’t want for anything ever again. Show me where to sign/vote on that.

I don't think we fully appreciate the explosiveness of this situation.
I am literally arguing with a guy who is a lifetime hunter and just purchased an AR about teacher's pension plans in a group text that up until this point was nothing but porn and jew jokes.
He's a childless 40 something but he has these feels. So many feels. If we just paid the teachers more...teachers work shit jobs to retire early...society needs teachers...more money means better educations for everyone.
He's like that fake hillbilly comedian from AL. My guess is he has daddy issues but I have never really talked to him about that shit. Seems like original Lexingtonians were brainwashed preddy gud back in the 90s.

That's not fair. Louisville and Lexington are our financial hubs, the first is full of bleeding heart Catholics being led astray by the anti-christ pope and the latter is powered purely on the research funding generated by the University of KY and a hospital system that serves literally half the state, so we do have plenty of Blue here in the Bluegrass state. The only reason we were ever more Blue was when the unions actually carried some water in the state.Speaker to Animals wrote:Kentuckians are basically mountain Yankees.
The reason the school shit hits hard here is because in most counties public schools, as bad as they are, are the main job providers. Also, plenty of Coal Miner's Daughters still have a soft spot for unions in general.

You threw your lot in with the Yankees. Then you attacked Tennessee who was just minding their own business.

Normies are already starting to wake up to this.Speaker to Animals wrote:These public sector pensions are not going to be paid. You better believe tha.
In CT, they already started raising property taxes/proposing additional taxes to cover public obligations like pensions. My "friends" there are now starting to ask "WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?"
When it gets painful, the blame will flow freely.
But the awakening has only just begun.

My friend from CT told me he and the wife want to move, they think CT is sinking ship, but -- get this -- the problem holding them back is that his wife, a public high school teacher, will make at least 10K less teaching in any other state.
I thought he would put 2 and 2 together, but not yet. Not enough pain.

I have problems taking suggestions from any organization in a state who's abbreviation is the name of a sex lubricant. Somehow I get the feeling they're looking to "shaft" me.kybkh wrote:That's not fair. Living in most areas in CT is more expensive than 80+% of other states out there so I can see making around 10K more than you would in the South, Midwest and Rocky Mountains etc.apeman wrote:Normies are already starting to wake up to this.Speaker to Animals wrote:These public sector pensions are not going to be paid.
