Louisville and Lexington are our financial hubs, the first is full of bleeding heart Catholics being led astray by the anti-christ pope and the latter is powered purely on the research funding generated by the University of KY and a hospital system that serves literally half the state, so we do have plenty of Blue here in the Bluegrass state. The only reason we were ever more Blue was when the unions actually carried some water in the state.

The reason the school shit hits hard here is because in most counties public schools, as bad as they are, are the main job providers. Also, plenty of Coal Miner's Daughters still have a soft spot for unions in general.

Living in most areas in CT is more expensive than 80+% of other states out there so I can see making around 10K more than you would in the South, Midwest and Rocky Mountains etc.
