.5 is weak shit.

I find anything thicker than .5 is a waste of good graphite.

Unless you looked at the mechanical pencil I showed it isn’t your generic pencil. It is an artist pencil that can handle about 7 types of graphite hardness.

If I need to do any artwork or calligraphy I’ll use my pens. But for writing and doing fine detail work, I’ll take .2 to .5.

And yes, I write small and detail work by hand. I hate using the computer.

I also doodle a lot, thinner the lines more I can do so.

Yeah I prefer finer point mechanical pencils. I used to like the thicker ones because I write very heavy handed but it's nice to take it easy with a fine point sometimes and you dont get the sensation of writing with a dull pencil all the time.

The last point is exactly why I like using them... on top of that, I used to be heavy-handed as well, it taught me to have a gentle touch with my pencils.

Nice, we talkin' pencils? I'm all about mechanical pencils, I use 0.5mm, but I've used 0.7 in the past. I find 0.9 to be obscene for drawing, but if I had to write something long hand then it might feel appropriate, I do break the 0.5 tips fairly regularly

Not being an engineer or in school I have no use for pencils anymore. Anything that needs to be wrote down should be done in ink. I'm all about ball points. Preferably black. Plus most of my penmanship goes to contracts these days so no pencils.

I buy pencils in bulk and I love that crispness, but I break anything smaller than 0.7.

My dad got me some cool pencils from Germany, but they're 0.5 and 0.3 and I just can't use them.
