No, it wasn't just the last episode. They fucked his character up by turning him from a player into Robin's boyfriend, one of the most ill conceived ideas a comedy that relies so heavily on character could ever do to the best character in the show

Shouldn't have been possible to fuck up Barney Stinson, yet HIMYM found a way, so disappointing

The longer that show went on, the more unlikable the characters became, they milked a show long past it's expiration date, and fucked everything up
