Lets slide past the fact that a certain large but unknown portion of illegal immigrants never file forms with the Census Bureau. The 2/3 stat isn't for "welfare" ie
"living on the dole", its for a family accessing ANY government support at all, from medicaid for kids to reduced school lunches.

Welfare receipt by working households is very common. Of non-citizen households receiving welfare, 93 percent have at least one worker, as do 76 percent of native households receiving welfare. In fact, non-citizen households are more likely overall to have a worker than are native households.

These people are workers, but working at the bottom end of our society where we have decided ANYONE needs a little help.
