Yeah, I really can't wait to see how this all shakes out. There are some that are going to be REALLY wrong. I am not sure who yet but I do know that should round out the list of enemies of more freedom to the most people. So far all the WuFlu and Forever war people are on that side of the accounting. I'm curious about the others that are all flying the blue and yellow. Never mind the actual Nazis, Zelensky is a hero, Hunter who, What are you a Pootin apologist crowd. All this will come out in the wash and I could be totally wrong but maybe, just maybe, I am not. Yet again.
Everyone knows what the perspective is of Ukraine, NATO + nations and the Biden Admin. Pootin is evil, Zelensky is brave, and Russia will lose. This may very well be true, but I'm presented with questions.
How do 200k attack 600k and have any success at all ?
The standard ratio to go on the attack in all of military history has been a 3:1 advantage in numbers for the attackers. This is inverted.
Then you look at the breadth of the Russian Offensive, they are attacking Ukraine on 3 sides, and the interior with missiles, reaching all the way to the Polish borders. It's hard to find info from the Russian perspective, so I'm fascinated with what the other side is saying.

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
I have listened to people who say that the way the Russians' fight a war is almost diametrically opposed to how the US conducts a war, therefore it is foreign and misunderstood. I dunno. I am a dunce. But I do know that there is going to be half or more that will end up with egg on their face when this is all over. I just keep popping the popcorn. Are the neocons right this time?C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:11 amAgree. I'm on a wait and see attitude.Haumana wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:55 am

The Russians probably told themselves that the people would greet them with flowers and the enemy would surrender in 2 weeks. The Ukraine invasion has brought NeoCons and Progressives together. Nothing these two groups like more than war and regime change. They share the same policies but act like enemies over shit like abortion and taxes.
I've been curious about Russian strategy and aims as well. What is his goals.
Destruction of Ukraine, then on to Moldavia, the Balkans, Poland and recreating the Warsaw Pact ? I dunno.
Go back and look at Poking the Bear right here on MHF. It's an interesting read because we were pretty neutral back then as a forum and we made thoughtful posts about the Russian-Ukraine brewing conflict and how Russia made war. Lots of talk of Russia doing war differently, with a heavy reliance on artillery.
Congressional Report on Russian doctrine https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/IF/IF11625
Here's a pro-Russian view of what is happening
HOW A 200,000 MAN ARMY HAS PINNED DOWN AN ARMY OF 600,000
“The Russian forces, which numbered 200,000 men, managed with maneuvers and deceptions to pin down 600,000 Ukrainian Army. “The Russians have adopted an improved version of the American Desert Storm operation, fixing superior Ukrainian forces.”
These are the words of two former analysts and CIA intelligence officers.
In particular, the former CIA analyst, Larry Johnson, stressed that “the Russian siege of Kiev for the past three weeks was intended to commit Ukrainian forces and reserves in the protection of the Ukrainian capital.
“Thus, Russia was able to conduct large-scale operations in the east and south of the country.”....
“The Russian campaign in Ukraine will be included in the war maneuver manuals.

I doubt it but that is the standard Western media narrative.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 12:31 pmThe Russians probably told themselves that the people would greet them with flowers and the enemy would surrender in 2 weeks. That is exactly the other side of the story. Also, that the Russians don't use their Spec Ops the same way as us. They use them as a diversionary force not as the tip of the spear, so to speak. So between that narrative, Smitty's narrative, and the Western Corporate Media narrative something has to give.C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 1:19 pm

This is shaping up like a whodunit.
So far the short selling of the Neo Nazi ideology that permeates Ukraine has been an indicator.

Dude has been warning everyone about the Russian red line for years and yet Noodleman and the rest have been ignoring it. Either bumblefucking our way or actively trying to provoke WWIII. But he is the cray cray one... I just don't see it.

All the MSM was calling him crazy when he Johnson revealed it was the UK leading efforts to spy on the Trump campaign. A claim that we now know was 100% accurate.

How about Russia saying "Fuck y'all, pay me in Rubles only now."? Hari Kari for the hegemony of the petrol dollar. Thanks, Biden.
