Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
The 200,000 man Russian invasion force numbers stand up, as do the 600,000 man Ukrainian Defense. I looked at a lot of sources from the 3 week of February before that invasion that noted 200k were on the border.
The Pentagon says Russia is not retreating, but repositioning for a new offensive.

Vice is now putting out Russian Disinformation in it's articles.Department of Defense

: We believe this is a repositioning, not a real withdrawal, and the world should now be prepared for a major offensive against other areas of Ukraine. It does not mean the threat to Kyiv is over.

You judge for yourself.
‘I Don’t Want to Be Cannon Fodder’: Foreign Fighters Are Leaving Ukraine
And they really went to a lot of work for their disinformation. Citing multiple news agency publications, photos, real names of men that had been there.a month on, there’s growing evidence that the reality of life as a foreign volunteer in Ukraine isn’t squaring with the romantic fantasy. Many foreign fighters, disenchanted with what they encountered, have already gone home early, with gripes ranging from a lack of adequate equipment and poor organisation, to the calibre of fellow foreign recruits....
The soldiers said they were under-equipped and outmatched by the superior Russian firepower, and complained about the calibre of some of their fellow foreign recruits, suspecting that they were abusing drugs.
“You’ve got to realise that there isn't a war that has been fought like this in a long time,” Hieu Le, a 30-year-old American legionnaire, told VICE World News. “What's different with the US military and all the other NATO militaries—they're spoiled. When it comes to fighting a war, they have air support, medivac, logistics, all kinds of different levels of intelligence, and support. Here in Ukraine, we had none of that.”

It's almost like there may be some truth to it.

Yeah, I really can't wait to see how this all shakes out. There are some that are going to be REALLY wrong. I am not sure who yet but I do know that should round out the list of enemies of more freedom to the most people. So far all the WuFlu and Forever war people are on that side of the accounting. I'm curious about the others that are all flying the blue and yellow. Never mind the actual Nazis, Zelensky is a hero, Hunter who, What are you a Pootin apologist crowd. All this will come out in the wash and I could be totally wrong but maybe, just maybe, I am not. Yet again.C-Mag wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 7:24 amThe 200,000 man Russian invasion force numbers stand up, as do the 600,000 man Ukrainian Defense. Everyone knows what the perspective is of Ukraine, NATO + nations and the Biden Admin. Pootin is evil, Zelensky is brave, and Russia will lose. This may very well be true, but I'm presented with questions.
How do 200k attack 600k and have any success at all ?
The standard ratio to go on the attack in all of military history has been a 3:1 advantage in numbers for the attackers. This is inverted.
Then you look at the breadth of the Russian Offensive, they are attacking Ukraine on 3 sides, and the interior with missiles, reaching all the way to the Polish borders. It's hard to find info from the Russian perspective, so I'm fascinated with what the other side is saying.

Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine
Certainly some of that. You make a good point, lies, misrepresentations and failing to understand what is happening are problems for all sides in a given war. ExamplesSuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 31, 2022 9:29 am
Probably the same things we told ourselves about Iraq.
Team Ukraine said the Russians were fleeing, just for the Pentagon to come back and agree with the Russian version of that story. No, the Russians are not fleeing, they are repositioning for a new Offensive.
So, who do I believe ?
I'm sitting here with a brand new blue and yellow tatoo on my face, chanting Slava Ukraina, ready to watch the Russian Orcs flee as we kill them. Then my own government tells me NO, we agree with Russia, this isn't over.

Day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date. In this way every prediction made by the Party could be shown by documentary evidence to have been correct; nor was any item of news, or any expression of opinion, which conflicted with the needs of the moment, ever allowed to remain on record. All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary.
