I think they took it too far, honestly. If anything, they should wait for an adult to show up and admit they supplied minors with alcohol and arrest that person.

Also, with respect to the issue of people resisting arrest, in a lot of cases I think you are dealing with instinctual behavior. The flight or flight response is triggered. Their adrenaline is pumping pretty fast. It's not normal for people to come out of the blue and attempt to restrain you. To the average person in a relatively free country, that triggers a response as if they are being attacked (which they are, even if there exists a justification for it).

The law expects people to suppress instinctual behavior right at a moment when their evolutionary psychology is taking over for their rational intellect.

One of those rare moments when we are in complete agreement.

If people continue to view every single incident of a cop using force as a cry for Police brutality what you are going to end up with a decade from now is more brutality from Police. The good cops and good people looking to that as a possible profession are going to look at the witch hunting and decide to follow some other career path. That leaves you filling those spots with the ones who really do get off on being in power and taking out their aggression on others. Then you'll have a legit grips about a Police state because you will have run off all the decent ones.

Fair points, but I'd argue that that has already happened a long time ago. There's little reason for anyone to choose police work, if they're capable of doing something else.

You're admitting to a bias against Police. In your mind they're all already bad cops because if they were capable of anything else they would be doing that.
