I think they took it too far, honestly. If anything, they should wait for an adult to show up and admit they supplied minors with alcohol and arrest that person.
Also, with respect to the issue of people resisting arrest, in a lot of cases I think you are dealing with instinctual behavior. The flight or flight response is triggered. Their adrenaline is pumping pretty fast. It's not normal for people to come out of the blue and attempt to restrain you. To the average person in a relatively free country, that triggers a response as if they are being attacked (which they are, even if there exists a justification for it).
The law expects people to suppress instinctual behavior right at a moment when their evolutionary psychology is taking over for their rational intellect.
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

Pedophiles allow their natural instincts to take over all the time and you two don’t seem to be nearly as forgiving of that.Kath wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:26 amOne of those rare moments when we are in complete agreement.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:19 am

Why, it’s almost like the whole “We shouldn’t legislate to suppress instinctual behavior” position is arbitrary bullshit, given the number of laws passed specifically for that purpose.

Unless it's a Nazi in contempt of court.
In which case herald him as a hero.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Right, because not drinking on the beach is comparable to being a pedophile. Dude, you high?

Not high, just arguing with dummies who can’t see the obvious shortcomings in their whimisical proclamations of what they believe at the moment.

To be clear, I agreed with your own post about what you think is happening to police, by saying that it's already happened. Now you're accusing me of bias....PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:02 amYou're admitting to a bias against Police. In your mind they're all already bad cops because if they were capable of anything else they would be doing that.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 10:55 amFair points, but I'd argue that that has already happened a long time ago. There's little reason for anyone to choose police work, if they're capable of doing something else.PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 10:52 amIf people continue to view every single incident of a cop using force as a cry for Police brutality what you are going to end up with a decade from now is more brutality from Police. The good cops and good people looking to that as a possible profession are going to look at the witch hunting and decide to follow some other career path. That leaves you filling those spots with the ones who really do get off on being in power and taking out their aggression on others. Then you'll have a legit grips about a Police state because you will have run off all the decent ones.
Go smack yourself.

So, all crimes are of equal importance? Owning a yellow stick of margarine in Missouri is comparable to a pedophile raping a child?

Apparently, the two criminals should be pursued on equal terms... Fascinating.
No-knock raids for speeding tickets anyone? Shoot anyone ignoring a Yield sign?

“We shouldn’t legislate to suppress instinctual behavior” - the idea you and STA agree on.
Cool.
Guess we can legalize crimes of passion, rape, theft, pedophilia, vandalism, assault, trespassing, loitering, indecent exposure, etc, etc ... because it’s a damn shame to suppress the natural instincts of people with oppressive laws and shit.
Fucking DERP.
