The old True Grit was my dad's favorite movie, so he loved the book as well.

He actually liked the new one with the Dude even better because it was truer to the book

My favorite avatar in my rotation (before Mike drew up Sidney Johnston for me) has always been Charles Portis.

I especially think you would get a kick out of The Dog of the South, but True Grit is at the tippy tippy top.
