The US is a Constitutional Republic. And your standard grunt is a plebe.

”Yes Sir!”
”No Sir!”
”May I bend over so you can give it to me again, Sir!?”

You are the bottom of the food chain in the military, you are a plebe to the brass. An expendable.

You can tell me in wrong all you want, but the current generation of soldiers in my family say otherwise.
I didn't say anything to you, I simply don't see how Plebeian is a pejorative in a republic.

Plebeian simply means citizen, which is nothing to be ashamed of in America.

Soldiers obeying the chain of command is entirely consistent with their oaths, so no shame there neither.

Your vacuous screed against honorable Plebeians is simply incoherent.
In the US a plebe in an insult.
No, it isn't.

The origin of the usage in America comes from West Point.

"Plebe" is slang for a Freshman Cadet.

So it's actually a badge of honor.

Candidate to the elite of the United States Army officer ranks.

Ulysses S. Grant was a Plebe. Robert E. Lee was a Plebe.

A faggot was never a cigarette.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Still is a fag never was a faggot.
A faggot is a meatball in gravy or a bunch of firewood.

Plebe was not an insult in Roman times neither

The Patricians always sought to portray themselves as being of the people, under the auspices of SPQR

So in fact the Patricians extolled the virtues of the Plebeians.

Plebeian in the Roman context was to be the Salt o' the Earth, like Italians saying "Paisano".

Was always considered an insult within the group of family members and their cohorts going back several generations... so if it's not, so be it, but I have always considered a pleeb someone who doesn't think for themselves. Just around the same mental attributes as a sheep.
