Social workers are underfunded, underpaid, too few in numbers and vilified by the press in the UK.
This is the route cause of the problem and both Labour and Tory governments have been responsible for these cuts. Welfare programs have been seen as easy pickings when it comes to saving money particularly by the Tories who have been trying to dismantle the welfare state ever since Labour set it up in 1945.

If they are going to do propaganda right, they need to run with the women as victims meme. It's much more effective. Most effective would be a picture of a dead woman with her dead baby laying next to her like the Russians did when the Ukrainians indiscriminately fired artillery into an Eastern Ukrainian city last year. Maybe just use that photo and pretend it was a poor, defenseless Ukrainian woman this time instead of a poor, defenseless Russian woman.

The EU wants their own military, and they should have one. Tax their people to pay for it, and get their own young men killed. They don't like what Russia's doing, they can do something about it, or not, they're the cuck EU.

We do? Where do "we" do that? Most European countries have way stricter immigration policies than the US does (and an actual enforcement of the existing immigration laws).

Oh, and there's a wee bit of a difference between a professional army with, you know, a couple hundred thousand infantry, artillery, tanks, fighter jets, bombers and nuclear weapons and.... a greasy-haired Syrian "armed" with a smartphone jumping a fence. Even if he is a rapist. And you do when the only time NATO Article 5 was invoked, right? And who it was who came to whose aid?

Didn't you used to be in the army? You'd have thought someone with military training would, you know, know that the greater threat to a border would be an army... rather than some immigrants. Probably a good thing you left the service if you can't tell enemy armies apart from groups of foreign hobos.

The European Parliament has backed plans to create a defence union which will secure structured cooperation between nations as well as a new EU military operational headquarters.

Lawmakers at the European Parliament voted 369-255 in favour of the proposals, which also calls for greater spending by nations on defence.

Of course, while I'm perfectly happy with a EU substitute for NATO, an EU army could be a step closer to a "United States of Europe". If otoh it's implemented in a way that respects national sovereignty, while being a military structure dedicated to protecting the member states as a whole, I'd be for it.
