I'm actually trying to find information in digestible book format or documentary of the Portuguese Dictator Salazar. From a cursory understanding of him and the times it appears he was quite effective and dare I say "good" for his country. God, Fatherland, Family!

here's something

Thanks, going to listen at some point. Is it better or as good or different substantially from the Myth of the 20th?

Great supplement. I like Lauritz Von Guildhausen a lot. His previous cohost was smart but too nervous.

Still dividing the nation from beyond the grave.

Still dividing the nation
I hope that was sarcasm but I cant know because I'm told that in European public education regarding the spanish civil war is just as shitty as in the US.

I went to his twitter page...funny. But what is his podcast called and is it a history podcast specifically?

I know your really into politics and podcast etc. but what do you do for fun generally? Do you currently watch any tv shows/movies?

You may dig "Leave No Trace".

Back on topic. From the podcast Nuke graciously posted, I found the discussion of the Siege of Alcazar illuminating. So much going on there politically, socially, and militarily. Lots of propaganda and public relations bullshit. Nice how the Communists had photo optics going on while shelling the soldiers wives/children and they were starving like all sieges really. Good time for a PR move, right? Shocking how absurd so many incidents were.

There was another interesting story as well of the one Nationalist coup general sympathizer up in the North of Spain that held out for months and was eventually relieved by the Franco faction. Can't remember the place specifically, but it was amazing the guy could hold out as long as he did. Shows how disorderly and incompetent the Republicans generally were.
