It looks like people above him asked him to talk to the Russians about sanctions and to call the UN security council members to try and get them to delay the vote on Israel. It's plausible to me that someone high up in the team asked him to then lie about it later as well.

Misplayed loyalty is just a gag, though.

It's really hard to mislead someone who isn't willing to take the bait, given the hope of plausible deniability if shit goes wrong.

Yep - I still lurk sometimes but have been too busy at work this year to let myself post much - I feel bad and frustrated later when I can't find time to continue the argument!

Well, okay so I am kind of playing catch-up with this thread and I haven't really read through any of the 4 pages that came up BUT I have been hearing big things about this. First, it looks like Flynn has made a deal with Mueller and some are speculating that he will give much-needed dirt on Trump and his team. Second, well there is this related news story:

CNN)Jared Kushner is the "very senior member" of President Donald Trump's transition team who directed incoming national security adviser Michael Flynn to contact the Russian ambassador to the United States and other countries about a UN Security Council vote on Israeli settlements, sources familiar with the matter tell CNN.

The filings from Flynn's plea hearing Friday say a "very senior member" of Trump's transition team asked Flynn to contact officials from UN Security Council countries, including Russia, to learn where each country stood on the vote on a resolution condemning Israeli settlement activity and "to influence those governments to delay the vote or defeat the resolution."
An attorney for Kushner did not respond to a request for comment.

My MAJOR PROBLEM with all this crap is unequal justice under the law. I'm fine with investigating Trump, whatever. But when you don't put Hillary under oath, you don't keep transcripts of her testimony, it's all deep state Bullshit.
