If you don't understand that inflation is almost non existent in relative historical terms, then you're the idiot, mate.

That's what happens when you have a government that can print its own money.

Inflation isn't necessarily a bad thing considering our economy is one pretty heavily based around loans. If all the banks stopped loaning out money and most people had to buy things outright, then most of you would be fucked.

If our currency started deflating, then why would the banks ever loan out money? Say we started anually deflating at a rate of 3-5% per year, that means holding on to your money, and the bank holding on to their money, gives them a 3-5% investment return on doing nothing with their money. With inflation, unless you move the money, the money loses value, so holding onto it isn't always the best investment strategy.

Sure it screws us little guys who don't invest and just work, but it's the oil for the economic engine, at least that's how I understand it. (I'm not an economist so I could be wrong).

No, no, my government can't do that, there's only one King Dollah, and only he can get away with that.

Anybody else tries that, they will face spiraling inflation, but King Dollah's IOU's, are like printed gold.

Unless he blows himself with hydrogen bombs that is, but otherwise, he's good like that.

You are wrong, inflation doesn't screw the little guy who doesn't invest, inflation is his friend, inflation means he never has to pay the piper, inflation screws the guys with the money not the guys without, as if you don't have any money, what do you care if it is devalued?

HA!

I was infamous at law school for only drinking Natty Light because I didn't feel good about spending loan $$$ on fancy beer.

Ask Kazmyr, he was there.
