They were used to oppress ethnic peoples and represent a systemic form of racism and oppression. Frankly, I'm amazed they are tolerated in the current year let alone venerated.

Well they were built to subjugate minorities such as the Scots and the Welsh.Nukedog wrote:I think castles represent neo Nazi values. I look forward to the day when England is progressive enough to finally realize it's the current year and these structures do not represent our society and our heritage.
Also a symbol of the ruling elite oppressing the masses. Maybe you are right, trouble is it will take more than a few oversensitive ANTIFA types to knock them down. ''Hard to destroy'' is in their job description...
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Nonsense. We have bulldozers now. I don't see why the multicultural peoples of England can't pay for a few construction equipments to tear down the symbols of racist bigotry and hate when they already have to foot the bill for maintaining them in their progressive multicultural societies.
Face it. Castles are a thing of the past. They have to go to make room for the current year of acceptance and tolerance.

Thing is most of them are still in use. That use being separating hard cash from foreign tourists with little history of their own.
Stonehenge can only take so many visitors per day so they are still vital to the economy.
Modern statues of violent rebels from history we can afford to lose, starting with that traitor Wallace or Owen Glyndŵr.....

Also, the very notion of a Crown, in the Royal We, sense is somewhat denigrating for us Peoples of Color in Amerikkka. I think it represents a racist history of Norman Colonialism and needs to be done away with altogether. Your Parliament is also too White. It needs more Vibrant Peoples of Color. The House of Windsor is clearly a racist Dog Whistle as well.
