Who would you pick for SECSTATE, President Okee?
Maybe someone like Shinseki,

Haven't given it much thought. More ideas on who not to pick.
Not much thought indeed. You're going to pick the guy that many people blame for the VA scandal? You don't like yourself very much do you?

You know more about it than I do. My initial reaction was skepticism. Again, I don't know the ins and outs of it, but I thought something was up when the media repeatedly referred to him as the guy who gave the Army the black beret, rather than the guy who lost his job for telling congress the truth they didn't want to hear in regards to the troop commitment necessary to occupy Iraq.

Without knowing the details, I'm willing to withhold judgement on the VA issue. They were willing to smear him with the black beret thing, so I don't put it past them to smear him over the VA too. It's my understanding that the issues at the VA are bit more complex than one guy at the top, and that those issues predated him being in charge.

and I said someone like him, not necessarily him. Someone with the spine to tell it like it is, even if the administration doesn't want him too. I couldn't find a soundbite for it, but Gates has shown that trait as well. Again, not necessarily Gates, but someone who will speak up,
"Let's just call a spade a spade. A no-fly zone begins with an attack on Libya to destroy the air defenses ... and then you can fly planes around the country and not worry about our guys being shot down," Defense Secretary Robert Gates told a congressional hearing.

Nope, he fell on the sword he deserves it. He became the left's favorite general and used him as the patsy when the true feelings about veterans in the administration was revealed. Long walk, short pier take it asshole.

Donald Trump’s selection of Rex Tillerson for secretary of state on Tuesday amounted to a dare to Senate Republicans to reject the ExxonMobil chief over his close ties to Russia.

Early signs suggest the GOP won’t defy the president-elect.

I wouldn't expect a General to pass the buck. When you're in charge, you're in charge. If Shinseki fell on his sword, that's what he's supposed to do.

Some Shinseki did get correct just what kind of manpower would be needed for an invasion of Iraq, but that didn't go so well with the White House which was preparing to fight a short, easy and extremely cheap war.

Anyway, I think the general's quota has been reached. If there would be even more, there's going to be talk of Trump's military junta taking over.

I predict that if Tillerson doesn't get it, an angry Trump may pick somebody like Huntsman. There's allways a place for rich people in the cabinet.
