Explain what you mean here. What do tariffs have to do with sustaining socialism?Zlaxer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:57 amC-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:27 amIMO, the numbers of Democrats that want Socialism have not shifted dramatically in the last 35 years, as you say, it's just in the open now. The media is acting like it's a big surprise, but most of them want Socialism too.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:17 amNo. It is out in the open now, and the democratic party is completely fucked.
They are LARPing that there is some great movement, that the US in now getting enlightened and we'll do Socialism right this time.
US will go full one socialism within next 10 years...but will not be able to sustain it without massive tariffs....

That Florida Gov race is not going to be all that close I presume. Socialist barely won his primary and the city where he is mayor has a huge scandal looming.

Re: Socialism
It’s s the trend man - 5 years ago this guy would have been considered a Kooke instead of a contender. Far left is making slow and steady progress and the GOP is completely inept at stopping it. Instead of explaining how Socialism leads to consolidated governmental power that leads to cronieism....they argue trickle down economics and refuse to break up the cabal of big business cronnies in DC.......Americans are being drawn to socialism because they're fed up with the status quo of increasing wealth divide....but they're too fucking stupid to see that socialism always leads to the very thing they want to change.

Can't be done. Sweden tried in the '70s and '80s. It's a recipe for disaster. Just imagine the effect of higher domestic oil prize and tariffs to stop imports. Good luck with that one.Zlaxer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 2:48 amThey wont be able to support theyre massive governemt without trapping the capital so it cant leave the country.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:00 pmExplain what you mean here. Tariffs can work when the domestic economy is efficient and not polluted with the sloth that comes from trophies for all socialism.

Re: Socialism
We have rampant welfare dependence precisely because we offshored our jobs and decimated the middle and working classes.
If you want to avoid socialism, then listen to Daddy and follow his plan to build a fucking wall, deport illegals, and pursue rational trade policies that include tariffs to balance out the perverse incentives to export jobs to communist slave states. My main quibble with him is his tax policy that threw a temporary bone to the middle class while giving the wealthy permanent cuts.

Re: Socialism
What if your libertarian ideology is so much moonshine, and maybe wr'd not like our jobs offshored and many of the jobs that remain get filled by H1B pajeets. Maybe we'd like our food not poisoned as well. Thanks!
