USPTO has become anti-patent - most likely due to Obama seeding it with his ilk and silicon valley blood money....Private property rights = evil white male privilege.
Linked article is worth a read.
Besides screwing patent owners - how is it absurd?

Re: Socialism
Patents have stifled the fuck out of innovation, dude.
Software patents especially.
The idea that something like an algorithm can be patented is like corporate Orwellianism.
I would prefer much stronger trade secret laws coupled with a warrant system. If we want or need some innovation that much, we can set aside a bounty for it. If you develop and bring it to market, then you get the bounty as a reward.
If you can keep the technology a trade secret, then anybody who tries to steal it goes to prison. People should have to figure out how to replicate it on their own.

since when can one patent an algorithm ? Shit - must have missed that one when i took the PBar. Google 35 USC 101 before you continue your rant.
Patents are the best way for a startup to fend off a larger corporation....if not the only way.....why do you think big tech has been pumping money into DC to oblivion terate the patent system?

Game over man...game over...
The people fucking want socialism...they actually want a large and in charge centralized government....doesn't matter if he doesn't win this time around...he'll get it the next....He wants a 40% corporate tax rate....Washington (AFP) - A liberal African-American Democrat backed by Bernie Sanders will take on a Trump-idolizing Republican in an intriguing duel in November for governor of Florida, America's third-largest state.

Re: Socialism
IMO, the numbers of Democrats that want Socialism have not shifted dramatically in the last 35 years, as you say, it's just in the open now. The media is acting like it's a big surprise, but most of them want Socialism too.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 11:17 amNo. It is out in the open now, and the democratic party is completely fucked.

US will go full one socialism within next 10 years...but will not be able to sustain it without massive tariffs....you cant' have a 40% corporate tax rate and a 60% individual tax rate for high earners and not expect the rich to leave....with the rich gone, you're going to get cronies running industry just like Venezuela.
Fucking 0.1% doesn't give a shit about the destruction of American middle class...If they did, they wouldn't bribe the fuck out of DC.....
Winter is coming.
