Junkies are not a lethal threat in of themselves, if that's what you're invoking as your rubric to stave off Canadian style gun control, I'd brace yourselves for some Canadian style gun control.
You need an AR15, "cuz junkies"? I mean, ca'mon.

Taking strawman lessons from Jedi?
No one invoked junkies as the source of 2nd Amendment protections nor mentioned AR-15s.
You see a neurologist recently?

You guys keep invoking the minimal threat of a junkie who is afraid of the family dog and would run off at the sound of it, but then you're talking about tomahawks and .357 magnums as your home defense plans, but when I invoke an actual lethal threat which would require such measures, violent organized criminals with intent, you guys say "well we'd be dead anyways in that case".
Go figure.
Go figure.

You may want to try peeking at some US crime stats if you want to make reality-based points. Reality is that most home invasions in the US aren’t hitman related, but they are drug related.
But don’t let reality rain too hard on that strawman.

Home invasion is armed with intent, burglars case the houses they break into, they don't come when you're home, the people who come to break in, while you're home, are not junkies, they're gangsters of some form or another.

Incorrect. They often go into homes when people are there.
http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1991-0 ... y-pickingsThe Sun-Sentinel mailed questionnaires to a randomly selected 300 of the 1,160 men and women serving time for burglaries committed in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
About 10 percent of the surveys were returned, a rate that makes statistical analysis impossible. But those who responded were willing, even eager, to discuss their methods.
For obvious reasons, most said they stuck to wealthy and middle-class neighborhoods. A third, however, said they sometimes struck working-class areas and a few found pickings in even the poorest places.
Once the neighborhood was chosen, the next task was choosing a target. Most burglars said they did this with some care.
Some said they might watch the same home or business for hours, days or even weeks, studying the habits of those who lived or worked there and estimating the possible take.
Jason Paul, serving a four-year sentence in Brevard Correctional Institution, used a typical method: ``Scope out one house, then wait till morning. Watch the people leave, then wait a few hours to make sure everything is cool. Then, bingo, it`s off to the pawn shop we go.``
Some burglars drove through neighborhoods looking for possible targets; others said they preferred to work on foot. One said he scouted via skateboard.
One man said he noted possible targets while working as a roofer. Another said he got to know a lot of neighborhoods while working in the lawn business; customers were left alone, he said, but their neighbors, especially elderly living alone, would be hit.
Some burglars said they worked only at certain times of the day, but burglars are always working at any given hour.
That jibes only partly with statistics from the Palm Beach County sheriff`s property crimes division, said its director, Lt. Gary Hill. These figures show that more than a fourth of burglaries are committed between 8 a.m. and noon.
Nearly half said they never broke into a home when someone was inside.
So more than half of them broke into homes when people were inside.

People are home about 28% of the time nationally. The other 72% are irrelevant when discussing guns - though dogs may still play a significant factor.

Skinny drug addled junkie wanders on to your property looking for something to steal without a confrontation; that's not a home invasion.
