He checks off all the boxes though, that's seriously his excuse for getting absolutely fleeced, you can't make this shit up, bahaha.Smitty-48 wrote:Yeah, first rounder for Ryan Hartman? Nashville was fine without him, if Nashville doesn't win the Cup, Ryan Hartman won't make any difference either way, it wasn't actually a need, they either get the bounces or they don't, the Hockey Gods either anoint them or they don't, there is no other boxes to check.StCapps wrote:He checks off all the boxes though, that's seriously his excuse for getting absolutely fleeced, you can't make this shit up, bahaha.Smitty-48 wrote:Yeah, first rounder for Ryan Hartman? Well it is a laughable excuse, that shit cracks me up, it's not even true, Poille just grasping at straws to explain his idiocy on that one.Smitty-48 wrote:Nashville was fine without him, if Nashville doesn't win the Cup, Ryan Hartman won't make any difference either way, it wasn't actually a need, they either get the bounces or they don't, the Hockey Gods either anoint them or they don't, there is no other boxes to check.StCapps wrote:He checks off all the boxes though, that's seriously his excuse for getting absolutely fleeced, you can't make this shit up, bahaha.Smitty-48 wrote:

Blackhawks getting a first round pick and more for Hartman, Bowman is doing the happy dance right now, can't believe any GM was that stupid, no doubt. Grumpy should be stoked, but of course he's too busy being butthurt about not being able to take what he dishes out to notice.

If it's a team like the Leafs or the Avs, where there are still glaring holes in the lineup, it might make sense to try to plug those holes with a stopgap, but Nashville is pretty much loaded up, there's no real reason to tinker with it.StCapps wrote:Well it is a laughable excuse, that shit cracks me up, it's not even true, Poille just grasping at straws to explain his idiocy on that one. None the less, no way the Leafs are giving up their first, just for a Ryan Hartman, if there was a major asset in play, fine, but you don't throw away a first for a depth role player.

Yeah, Dave Poille, you're suppose to be smart enough to know better than that, but instead it's like he's gone insane.Smitty-48 wrote:None the less, no way the Leafs are giving up their first, just for a Ryan Hartman, if there was a major asset in play, fine, but you don't throw away a first for a depth role player.

Yeah, that hooey was pointed out to be as fucked up as a football bat, but whatevs.DrYouth wrote:This was where the debate actually blew up.Smitty-48 wrote:The Cavaliers did not come to America, they were the super rich of England, they were Royalist Loyalist Tories, they were the sworn enemies of Virginia, the very thing which the Southrons led the Revolution against.
If a Cavalier were to flee England, it wasn't to a colonial shithole in America, they went to France, they were Lords of the Peerage, they didn't do exile in the colonies.
Whatever "Tories" were about in America, they weren't Cavaliers, Cavaliers wouldn't be caught dead in America, they would just cross the Channel to their massive estates in France and live under the protection of Bourbon.
Poor people went to America, the dregs, the super rich didn't go anywhere near it.
Most illiterates are pretty good at changing the subject one way or another when they get way the fuck out over their skis, whether it's cat pics, or hot-take NHL stroking with a fanboi. /shrug
I'll go with Dr. D.H. Fischer's take on how the fancy-pants Cavaliers settled in the Tidewater, thanks for playing though, all you history nuts.
