It's like when I have to go pick up my dope, I have to face the Korean Man

The Korean Man runs the post office

Every time I go in he gives me this looks like "Korean Man don't smoke no dope, lazy man"

When I walked in, full Operator mode, he was the same

The Koreans don't mess about, they are fully operational

This time, the Korean Man gave me a little nod, like "Okay, I was wrong, you're serious guy afterall"

Priceless

All this death makes me melancholic. I hope it won’t take too many of the good ones.

I'm indoctrinated to compartmentalize

You mourn the dead when the war is over

In real time, you have stay in the groove, can't let shit get you down, you have a mission; mission before men

The military is what made me into a hedonist

You deny yourself, you accept privation, you learn to be the Happy Warrior

Then life is all the sweeter, all the little things are sweeter

Nine days, no sleep, one canteen of water and one ration a day, 120 lbs on your back, in the driving rain

After which, clean sheets, hot showers & warm pussy, are like heroin
Work is bullshit, jobs are jails, unemployment for everybody, not just the rich

War is the absence of work, war is just non stop fun, for the Operators

Most appropriate track from that album now that we all are fighting this thing. Also most underrated video from that album.

I've already lost a few

Like the best soldier I ever knew, Frank Mellish

Charged into the storm to recover his best friends dead body from the Taliban

Hit by an RPG-7, KIA

All due respect to rock stars, they ain't my brothers

It's like I hate Remembrance Day now, I never go,

I hate the phony baloney priggish Canadians patting themselves on the back using my brothers a props

But now, with operations in progress, I'm not melancholy, I'm on mission

I don't live in the future, I don't live in the past, I just live in the now

It's like another brother I lost in Afghanistan, Ainsworth Dyer

This one I recruited and trained, personally

From my neighborhood in the 6ix

Turned him into a bass ass paratrooper

At Tarnak Farms, he was ground zero where a 500 lb GBU12 impacted

Just gone, in the blink

The thing that made him so great tho ?

Happy Warrior

Nothing could get this kid down, bring it on, he kept coming, always relaxed in the saddle, with a smile on his face

No they are not. Few artists have experienced what they do art about. Bruce Springsteen never earned a vage from a normal job and got his driver's license late in life.
They are like empathy spunges and some of them have the ability to write stuff that is relatable to many.

"Yes I will, Master Corporal !!!"

Why's that, Dyer ?!

"Because we love this shit, Master Corporal !!!"

Fuckin' A, buck up, ruck up, let's go
