In 2019 61% of Americans said they believed the media ignored important stories.

If we are operating under the assumption that the majority is stupid, this suggests we should all start trusting the media more.

Believing they ignored important stories is not even close to what we are talking about. It also doesn't imply distrust, just that they didn't cover things people felt were important. Derp, derp.

I did a recent PRay TeLL about this. I don’t THINK 10 years ago the MSM was such a piece of shit, but maybe I’ve been Red-pilled?

My intuition on this is that the MSM is getting worse.

I am certain that Americans almost universally agree that it is impossible to avoid bias of some kind, and have decided that acknowledging that bias is a precondition of reliability, and the MSM has decided to try to compete in that arms race.

Unfortunately, it just isn't the case that acknowledging bias ACTUALLY engenders trust accept when the bias acknowledged is shared by the reader. Hence the 'information bubbles' phenomenon.

Just a heads up. Look at the polling they have been doing. A good chunk, some polls have over 60% are registered Democrats.

So of course they aren't going to vote for Trump, or say so.

It was the progressives in schools of journalism that started pushing the idea that it was laughably parochial to think journalistic integrity or ethics could help insulate news from bias.

That this idea has proliferated is incredibly concerning.
