There is a huge space now open for both historical fiction and fantasy in the tv world. Amazon or HBO need to zero in on a few gems waiting to be made. The Cortes miniseries will be awesome or should be. A saga based off a distant mirror would be real cool if done halfway right . Plague and war .it be like the movie road but only real.
Without a doubt it will all be derivative crap. I don't know how many of you are even old enough to remember all the crap SF movies & TV that came out after the success of Star Wars. Besides, it's been 8 years, and nothing stellar and novel has come out in the historical line. We had stuff like
The Tudors, Rome & Spartacus before GoT. Spartacus was actually pretty good once you got past the over the top sex and gore.
I guess top of the list of books I'd like to get the treatment would be Gary Jennings'
Aztec. That's a world that would be visually fascinating to recreate, with plenty of plot.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND
