Absolutely.

You could do the same thing with ANY attributes. Red Heads for example.... but Red Heads wouldn't be the cause. Nor is being Black the primary cause of the culture. Slavery is the cause, not race.

I believe that races have behavioral traits as well as physical. That's where the argument is. I do not believe that if Africans had colonized America it would have sent people to the moon. Considering the time frame the Mayans had been sedentary in central America they were developing at a faster rate then indo-europeans.

Well that's just it. Each race contributes to civilization in its own way. Indo-Europeans managed to conquer one way or the other and they went on to become one of the most capable races on the planet. Meso-Americans didn't do as well. Every race has a potential to achieve and some never do through no fault of their own. Still, particular cultures are downstream of that race. Will America look the same when whites are all but vanished? Here and in Europe as well in another century? I doubt it. But, maybe your mishmash of homogenous brown people that Dan loves to talk about, far away in the future, will be building super cool stuff. Like cars that fly and go underwater.

Eminem made some great hip hop, and Bad Brains made some great punk, but we all know at heart where the racial proclivities lie.

The real issue here, is that it's hard for individualists like nmoore and DBTrek to talk about something like racial averages or traits. I can sympathize, because the idea of my being controlled by my genotype is sort of repugnant to me.

Then again, I'm a white dude who looks silly dancing to hip hop, so I pretty much back up the genetic determinism argument.
