Why were those people enslaved? Because of their race.
Race---->Culture.

Wrong, but I guess that's one way to deflect.nmoore63 wrote:Calculus Man wrote:Okay, so people were enslaved, which resulted in a unique slave culture.

Can people create a nurture enviroment solely applicable to any one attribute?Calculus Man wrote:Wrong, but I guess that's one way to deflect.nmoore63 wrote:Calculus Man wrote:Okay, so people were enslaved, which resulted in a unique slave culture.

Slave culture is literally downstream of the black/African race. Take your ignorant picture back and try again.
Considering the time frame the Mayans had been sedentary in central America they were developing at a faster rate then indo-europeans.Nukedog wrote:By nick's own argument he granted that not enough time has passed and I agree. We picked up people and dropped them off here in a Western European dominated society. What is the argument there? I believe that races have behavioral traits as well as physical. That's where the argument is. I do not believe that if Africans had colonized America it would have sent people to the moon. That's what the argument is about.
The funny thing is that I am racist.Calculus Man wrote:I think the sonic differences between hip hop and punk rock were caused by something more substantial than merely growing up in different neighborhoods.
Eminem made some great hip hop, and Bad Brains made some great punk, but we all know at heart where the racial proclivities lie.
The real issue here, is that it's hard for individualists like nmoore and DBTrek to talk about something like racial averages or traits. I can sympathize, because the idea of my being controlled by my genotype is sort of repugnant to me.
Then again, I'm a white dude who looks silly dancing to hip hop, so I pretty much back up the genetic determinism argument.

I don’t think it’s chance that some races win sport X in the olympics way more than random chance.
But that’s not how I live. You take peoples on means and averages and you will fuck up your place in life something awful.
No I take people as I find them. One at a time.
Folks ain’t talking about no averages. Folks here talking about oppressing people because they ain’t no good at preserving it themselves.
You want to live in some Great White Enclave? You fucking bet you can. Go do it, ‘stead o moaning about how you fucking powerless.
