It's not even that, it's just that the Americans are slaves to ritual, they have stock narratives which they repeat ad nauseam, and if you bring anything up which doesn't comport with that, the basically filibuster. If a filibuster, back to hockey talk, simple as that.DrYouth wrote:I would even venture that STA was in trouble in the debate and decided to provoke a Hockey Bombing.

This was where the debate actually blew up.Smitty-48 wrote:The Cavaliers did not come to America, they were the super rich of England, they were Royalist Loyalist Tories, they were the sworn enemies of Virginia, the very thing which the Southrons led the Revolution against.
If a Cavalier were to flee England, it wasn't to a colonial shithole in America, they went to France, they were Lords of the Peerage, they didn't do exile in the colonies.
Whatever "Tories" were about in America, they weren't Cavaliers, Cavaliers wouldn't be caught dead in America, they would just cross the Channel to their massive estates in France and live under the protection of Bourbon.
Poor people went to America, the dregs, the super rich didn't go anywhere near it.

Only if the argument is boring and repetitive, we've been doing this long before the current flame war. When threads die, we might just hockey bomb them, it's a common occurrence. Other people do the same thing, they just go off-topic with something other than hockey talk when threads get boring. Don't mind us.DrYouth wrote:I guess this will forever be the tactic...

Was referring to Capps, but you'll do.Smitty-48 wrote:But your narratives never change, you just keep going back to the same narratives over and over, and if anyone tries to inject something new and interesting, you reject that in favour of ritual repetition of your now very tired and overplayed stock narratives. At which point, Canadians gotta do something to pass the time,GrumpyCatFace wrote:In a shocking development, NHL hockey talk is now used whenever the Canadian Clown gets bored, or can't keep up with the narrative. Who could have seen that coming? Sad!
What narratives do I repeat, in your opinion? I do tend to repeat that we're facing an imminent financial collapse, but I don't believe that came up in this discussion.

SIFCLF bombing, hockey bombing, same-same, except hockey talk is more interesting.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Was referring to Capps, but you'll do.Smitty-48 wrote:But your narratives never change, you just keep going back to the same narratives over and over, and if anyone tries to inject something new and interesting, you reject that in favour of ritual repetition of your now very tired and overplayed stock narratives.
