Since Hitler was asleep, they were too afraid to do something without his authorization, and in turn the battle was lost, and in reality the war...
Has nothing to with the point, Hitler asleep for one night did not alter the course of the war

Normandy didn't win the war in Europe anyways.

The Soviets were going to roll over the Germans by then.

Normandy was simply the landing to prevents the Soviets from taking Western Europe.
True, but it also became a battle on two fronts, instead of one. If Russia did do what you suggested, I don't think they would have been able to do what they did ultimately. I think Germany would have been able to put them to a stalemate.

The war was already long decided by then, Normandy decided nothing vis a vis the outcome for the Germans.

The Soviets were at the gates, the Germans were collapsing in the east.

The point of Normandy was to swoop in and block Soviets after the Soviets won the war in the Ost.

Hitler being asleep did not alter anything, wouldn't have made any difference to send the Panzers in.

The Allies had control of the skies, the Germans were doomed either way.

Again, has nothing to do with my original point, Hitler being asleep; irrelevant to the point of Hitler estimation.

So not even sure what' you're on about. "Hitler asleep"; so what? Besides the point.

The only reason that Normday was a success the way it was, was rather simple. Hitler was asleep.

If his officers were given reign to do what was required, they could have brought the heavy artillery that survived the shelling to the top of the embankments and destroyed the ships as they were coming to shore.
Nonsense. They'd have to do that in daylight, with the Allies in complete control of the skies. They'd be gone within minutes of opening fire from the planes if the naval guns didn't get them first. The Nazis never had a chance, the material advantage of the Allies from American factories was simply too great. All the tactical "what ifs" don't mean anything compared to that. The Nazis didn't have the material nor men to wage war fully on 3 fronts. They were toast from the moment the US entered the war.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

Victory conditions in the West would have had had to include Anglo-America staying out.

Britain negotiates an armistice, abandons France, America First keeps America out.

Victory conditions in the East would have needed the Japanese to attack the Soviets instead of the Americans.

That was supposed to be the Axis plan, Germany and Japan attack the USSR and split it.

Anglo-America gets out and stays out.

Instead, they both attacked America, sealing their dooms.

Germany always has the shittiest allies when they go to war, another thing that helped seal their doom in both World Wars.

Germany's fate was sealed at sea, in both wars.

The First World War is an Allied blockade.

The Second World War is a German blockade.

Germany is defeated by Anglo-America in both cases, at sea.

Strategic power flows from the sea.

Freedom of navigation.

Japan had a decent navy but then they picked a fight with two vastly superior naval powers instead of attacking the Soviets, which screwed the Germans. Womp Womp.

Forced to by the Anglo-American oil embargo from Southeast Asia.

Without the oil the Japanese would have ground to a halt precipitously.

Anglo-America forces their hand.

Anglo-America wins both wars in both theaters, at sea.

The British Wars of Hegemonic Succession.

Sea wars wherein the Mahanian Eternal Seapower encircles and contains Eurasia.
