Still not contributing a damned thing, I see.
Dude, are you completely ignorant of history, or do you just pretend to be and hope that no one you're talking to has access to the internet or an IQ over 50? Because you make the most ridiculous, easily disprovable claims and then proceed to whine about them for pages at a time.
Hence the post count, I guess.
What the fuck does medieval history have to do with what I wrote? Are you a fucking moron?

For a while, the task would just be to make the thing economically viable through mining, probably using unmanned robotics we launch up there. But you could spread the work out a little, and probably move a lot of people to a few key locations where most of the work is done.
We already train kids fresh out of high school to maintain fighter jets and nuclear power plants on aircraft carriers. It wouldn't be so difficult to train people to become technicians. People with engineering backgrounds would have obvious employment in it.
You could do something similar with alternative energy / transportation improvement types of things. Like building cargo pipelines, new roads, and helping to build smaller communities spread out to take in the urban population that has to leave the cities when the jobs dry up. Such communities could be designed away from the automobile concept that has setup the American infrastructure for tough times come peak oil unless we can really make electric viable (we have not yet done so, really).
Either way, lolberts are going to bitch and moan because it's heresy in their Mammon religion. Fuck 'em. Seriously. Fuck those guys. They are a pain in the ass and have zero solutions worth the time to consider. The only thing they do is countersignal common sense.
Who do you think is against space exploration, or any of the commerce you describe in your last post?
Who said any of that?
Seems to me you have been part of the unicorn brigade calling innovation just so much shit-skittle. Obviously you don't really believe that hooey.
I think you are when you realize that doing this will require massive government expenditures and government coordinating multiple private ventures under a single auspice.
Since when have you seen me opposed to a decent public goods project?
Ever? Yeah, I thought not.

You were quoted for a reason, see if you can cobble together the mental energy to uncover the correlation between your comment to my response.
It ain't rocket science.

I don't see the connection either. Just a whole pile of ad hominem nonsense.

Okay. So you don't mind a massive space program run by the government. I was wrong about that.

Ok.
Let's break it down then.

So who is Mammon, Grumpy?
- Mammon [N] [H]
a Chaldee or Syriac word meaning "wealth" or "riches" ( Luke 16:9-11 ); also, by personification, the god of riches ( Matthew 6:24 ; Luke 16:9-11 ).
Now, this is day 2 of StA tossing a hissy because I've dared to gore his sacred UBI bull. The fact that I've thrashed the entire ridiculous premise a couple times now has made me very unpopular with him. So the lolbergs, the ones who worship the "personification, the god of riches", are the assholes who believe people should actually work for their material rewards. Aka - free market caitalists and the like.
So he wants to trash the system that has brought more prosperity and a higher quality of life, by far, to the most people in history because his feelers are hurt over UBI.
Thus, I compared my "Mammon" system and its results against his favored system of medieval Catholicism and its results.
Does it make sense now?

A hissy fit.
I have asked you for two days to present an argument to support your case. You failed. You only attack people with insults and vitriol, which is what you do when you know you lost a debate.
If you didn't lose the debate, then prove me wrong by presenting a logical argument. I have been waiting for two days. You don't seem to have anything forthcoming. Just ad homimen, straw man, and deflection.
You can't win this debate with an argument. You lost by default, even though both Daralon and Hanarchy made some very interesting points. But you proceeded to bury those points with your nonsense instead of respond to them.

I think you have Mammon reversed...
mam·mon
ˈmamən/
noun
noun: Mammon; noun: mammon; plural noun: mammons
wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion. It was taken by medieval writers as the name of the devil of covetousness, and revived in this sense by Milton.

I mean.. You just posted the biggest straw man ever. StA wants to bring us back to the dark ages!!! He's trying to impose Papal dictatorship! Don't listen to him!
You obviously don't have an argument.

That would be consistent with your complete inability to read and process simple sentences.

Says you - yet people not so invested in their viewpoints that they can't read or acknowledge counterpoints have overwhelmingly agreed that I've pretty much destroyed your UBI pipe dream. So sure, to fanatics and non-thinkers like yourself I've made no points and said nothing. To everyone else my points are valid, and we have three nutcase believers of UBI that can't be persuaded by anything.
