Not so much. They’re positioned as the manufacturing center of the world. If the rest of the worlds dollars are worth less, then their goods are worth more. Their workers’ pay is worth more, and their purchasing power is higher.

Whatever they have stashed in foreign debt is not consequential to their manufacturing power.
The manufacturing center of the world does not give you a flight to quality, manufacturing is now low grade work

It's the Information Age,

Information is now the most valuable commodity on earth, the value of labor is collapsing

The Chinese even offshore manufacturing work to Mexico now
Part of the shift into first-world economy. They have a shitty house in the neighborhood, so they just make the whole neighborhood shittier.
The flight to quality has nothing to do with manufacturing, China can't steal it that way, try again

End game would be to watch the collapse of the dollar into hyper-inflation, and gain economic dominance as the ‘safe harbor’. We’re doing a fantastic job of destroying ourselves with money printing.

Just a hypothesis, not a strong belief. I’m positing the possibility that if those sick clowns are really playing they long game’, this would be how to win it.
More importantly, the government could use it as casus belli. I’m certain that I’m not the only one with this idea.
China's wealth is not its own, it's all in foreign currency, hyperinflation takes them down too

They are pegged to the dollar, and without the US consumer they ain't the manufacturing power either. If they don't hyperinflate to keep pace with the US, then they lose their manfacturing, and that's all they fucking have. However hard the US gets hit it hurts China even more. There is no way for China to seize power by wrecking the US economy, just the opposite, the only for China to maintain power is dependency on the America, if America goes, they go with them.

The only reason people to go to China is to access all the US dollars, Euros and Yens they are sitting on

If the Western World currencies collapse, that takes China down too

In actual fact, China has the same casus belli as America

The only reason to go to war would be a naval blockade against freedom of navigation on the high seas

America is afraid that China might use their A2AD to blockade us

China is afraid that we will use the US Navy to blockade them

As always, the casus belli of the Hegemon's is naval blockade

The First World War doesn't become a world war until it becomes a naval war against Britannia

The Second World War doesn't become a world war until it becomes a naval war against Anglo-America

The Hegemons are Seapowers

Hegemonic war is fought on the High Seas

Those customers don’t go anywhere. They just have to pay up for Chinese goods. They’ve already savaged their own manufacturing, to save money.

Also, I don’t know where you got the idea that yuan is pegged to anything. One of Trumps biggest complaints was that they manipulate currency values freely. The yuan is pegged to the whim of the CCP.

So if I’m the CCP, I just enjoy the collapse, and start offering loans/buying bonds whenever they’re available. My currency goes out into the world worth less, and comes back as a premium paper.

If I’m really going nuclear, I just hint that container ship crews are nervous about visiting foreign ports.

The purpose of your surface fleet is to escort your cargo on the High Seas

The purpose of your submarines it to give your surface fleet freedom of navigation

The purpose of the aircraft carrier is to give your surface fleet air cover away from shore

The fur doesn't fly until somebody tries to blockade all that
