Re: Meanwhile in Iraq & Syria
How did the ‘20s end? Collapse. How did The Collapse end? World War.
p.s. I got frustrated half a year ago and hurt some people’s feelings out of pride. No one really deserves that even when they do. I learned from that experience, another lesson taught by this forum.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it, even in the World War, there was an NHL hockey season, the Leafs won the cup in 1942 and then again in 1945.

Wi-Fi ain’t going anywhere, and stockpiling guns is a Fool’s Errand. We did create a unique generation out of the adversity, one that served Liberty Nation well.

And you know, in the depths of the Collapse, First World War veteran Colonel Conn Smythe built Maple Leaf Gardens in record time, five months twelve days, and the very first season it opened, the Leafs won the cup, 1932. Conn Smythe actually paid part of the salaries of the construction workers in stock in the company, and all those stocks turned out to be worth a fortune.

Damn, I did not know that. The Collapse cannot get here fast enough. Who knows what might happen? Humankind might even again walk on the moon - or play hockey?

If you squint at those old moon landing photos, that may not be golf they’re playing. It could be hockey?!Smitty-48 wrote:Exactly, suffer hardship gladly, put the team above self, serve the Commander-in-Chief, Go Leafs Go.Martin Hash wrote:Damn, I did not know that. Nah, we got no need to steal America's glory, the Moonshot is America's thing, although technically, Scotland will have the glory of the first sport played in space, none the less, 22 February 1980, Team USA beat the Soviet Red Army, Miracle on Ice, which is without a doubt, the greatest upset in hockey history, by a country mile, because tell you what, even as a Canadian, I will say that the Soviet Red Army team, was the greatest to ever play the game.
Canada made the greatest players to ever play the game, but the greatest team, was Soviet Red Army. Beating Soviet Red Army in hockey was to Canadians, what the Moonshot was to Americans, because no one knew more than us, just how great they really were.
