Thinking of James Garner you should see Streets of Laredo if you like gritty westerns. It's the best of the Lonesome Dove series since the first one.

In the movie it's Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. It's based on an old TV show starring James Garner. He's in the movie as well but in n other role.
I remember the TV show. It was one of Dad's and my favourites.

Love a bit of James Garner, Rockford files was another favourite.

Just watched April Morning on Amazon. Holy cow what a gem.

Was looking for movies about the revolution to help a kid with history class. Very well made, really captured the feel of the early rebellion.
