The conclusion I come to is that French democracy works surprisingly well. For the first time since the war, I believe, neither of the two big parties, the Socialists and the Republicans, have a candidate in the final round. The truth is that Le Pen would beat either of their candidates. Instead the voters chose an independent candidate to run against her. He is a former socialist minister but he wasn't chosen as a candidate by them. No matter how this goes it's already a massive FU to the establishment.

Until he gets elected, and saddles right on top of the establishment pony. He's being boosted by Malik's brother, for Pete's sake.

There is no evidence to support this.The opposite is true,Le Pens would lose the second round against either of the other parties.
