Good, all you youngsters can carry on working while us old geezers can sit around in the sun on government handouts.

Once more into the breach Millennials.
That is the best strategy. Throw the millennials under the bus, about time they were useful for something.
My generation is garbage. I would happily be in the millennial sonderkommando unit enforcing Quarantine if it came down to it. Clueless old people and self-absorbed millennials are the ones out and about, and the reason for the ramping up of the lockdown.
Yup
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Destroying the economy is a dumb idea, especially in wartime, whether you blame Millenials for it or not. Pro tip.

War is logistics, destroying the logistics doesn't help fight the war, quite the opposite.

They can draft me all they want, if I help them in their war, it won't be because they told me to help. Fuck their orders and the horse they rode in on, they virtue signal like they are one's saving lives, when their reaction is going to kill more people than virus will without their counter-productive nonsense. Fuck the pedestal they think they stand on as well.

DIE SIFCLF's, REEEEEEEE! They can pretend this is bigger than WWII all they want, but reality doesn't give a shit what delusions they hold, may their children die in a grease fire.

Which is exactly the logic the government is following, and making the problem worse in the process somehow makes the SIFCLF's calmer. SIFCLF's gonna SIFCLF, but the government going SIFCLF is the real problem, the people will only panic for so long in the face of an obvious delusion, when the government panics, the damage done fighting that delusion could be felt for a very long time.

Your wife isn't the problem, she'll calm down eventually, the government on the other hand, might never calm down completely. You thought this was Soviet Canada before, just wait until we are in the wake of this pandemic, and even more draconian measures are the new normal.

Soviet Canada on steroids, here we come, embrace the suck, and make fun of it for the lulz the whole way, because there is fuck all we can do about it, especially with the SIFCLF's drowning us out.

Like I said, she isn't the problem, when the government overreacts to pander to the SIFCLFs, that is the problem, for all the reasons mentioned above. Your reaction is infinitely more reasonable than the governments anyway, so while you are implementing reasonable measures to keep your wife calm and in the mood, the government is attempting to do that in some of the most counter-productive ways imaginable.

I just have a warfighting mode and this is de facto full mobilization

So I'm not in civilian mode anymore, I'm in infantry mode

That's when you just ignore the big picture and focus on the little joys in life, live in now, and feggit about it

It's out of my hands now, so I can relax, once there's nothing you can do about it, you have nothing to worry about
