I'd rather face Columbus for sure and without Letang the Pens ain't that much of an upgrade on the Caps, it's as bad of a match up as the Leafs could realistically expect, especially playing in their soft ass division.Smitty-48 wrote:I'd rather face Washington than Columbus or Pitt, Washington is overrated, regular season championship team, the Leafs would be huge underdogs no doubt, but when it comes to punchers, they have three of the best in the league right now, and the Leafs punchers ain't feeling no pressure at all, a very dangerous animal that can be, in the first round.

Nah, Columbus is a no pressure team, they're not going to choke against a nothing to lose team, because Columbus is a nothing to lose team as well, and never bet against Crosby, Crosby is a Leaf Killer, Crosby alone would beat the Leafs dragging the rest of the Pens behind him. of the three Metro Division big dogs, Washington is the most vulnrable to the upset choke against a team of rookies who don't know enough to be afraid.StCapps wrote:I'd rather face Columbus for sure and without Letang the Pens ain't that much of an upgrade on the Caps, it's as bad of a match up as the Leafs could realistically expect, especially playing in their soft ass division.Smitty-48 wrote:I'd rather face Washington than Columbus or Pitt, Washington is overrated, regular season championship team, the Leafs would be huge underdogs no doubt, but when it comes to punchers, they have three of the best in the league right now, and the Leafs punchers ain't feeling no pressure at all, a very dangerous animal that can be, in the first round.
The Leafs would be in tough against any of them, but Washington is the most brittle and subject to over pressure, and that is what brings big dogs down in the first round, Pitt is the champs, they're not really under any pressure, all the pressure is on the Caps, they are ripe for a choke.

I'm still not even convinced Columbus isn't a one year wonder buoyed by Bobrovsky having a hot year. Washington is actually good. Columbus more ripe for a choke, because they suck more, pressure because they are better than Columbus doesn't hold Washington back from being a formidable foe in the first round, or otherwise, you overthink it.Smitty-48 wrote:Nah, Columbus is a no pressure team, they're not going to choke against a nothing to lose team, because Columbus is a nothing to lose team as well, and never bet against Crosby, Crosby is a Leaf Killer, Crosby alone would beat the Leafs dragging the rest of the Pens behind him. of the three Metro Division big dogs, Washington is the most vulnrable to the upset choke against a team of rookies who don't know enough to be afraid.

A hot Bobrovski is the kind of thing a team could ride all the way to the finals, I'm not even convinced the Leafs will make the playoffs, they're not in yet, they could lose three games in a row, wouldn't be that shocking, on the other hand, if they made it, and they got Washington, that could be very dangerous for Washington, because like I said, the Leafs are too young and inexperienced to even be afraid, they have nothing to lose, nothing to fear, whereas Washington would be shitting diamonds from the pressure, if the Leafs were scoring on them and refusing to go away, that's the nightmare scenario for Wash, and if it started to go off the rails like that, the big dog getting that choking feeling, well, that's how big chokes happen, becomes a self fullfilling prophecy and they end up gripping the sticks so tight, they beat themselves.

You are sleeping on Holtby bro. I'd be way more scared of the Caps, they are just way better. You are banking on them playing like shit to even have a chance, and even sleeping they are probably a tougher out than Columbus. The Caps have been dope for years and this is the first season the Jackets haven't sucked in forever, that doesn't make the former prone to upset than the later.Smitty-48 wrote:A hot Bobrovski is the kind of thing a team could ride all the way to the finals, I'm not even convinced the Leafs will make the playoffs, they're not in yet, they could lose three games in a row, wouldn't be that shocking, on the other hand, if they made it, and they got Washington, that could be very dangerous for Washington, because like I said, the Leafs are too young and inexperienced to even be afraid, they have nothing to lose, nothing to fear, whereas Washington would be shitting diamonds from the pressure, if the Leafs were scoring on them and refusing to go away, that's the nightmare scenario for Wash, and if it started to go off the rails like that, the big dog getting that choking feeling, well, that's how big chokes happen.

I don't fear Holtby at all, way overrated, if the Caps had to rely on Holtby to beat the Leafs, the Leafs would beat them.StCapps wrote:You are sleeping on Holtby bro. Washington could beat the Leafs easily with structure and using their size, play the heavy game, but if they lost structure and tried to rely on Holtby to save them, the Leafs would light them up.
The Leafs top nine can score on anybody, with the possible exception of Carey Price.
