I’d imagine that any overseas country is largely immune to invasion from China or any other. Occupied France notwithstanding.
If China actually managed to successfully invade Taiwan, even without interference from outside powers, it would be a stunning achievement.
This is where Smitty’s input would be useful. But I can’t think of any successful amphibious invasion of a stable nation, without centuries of technological gap between them. We couldn’t even make a beachhead 90 miles away.
And what’s the next step? Endless guerilla fighting for no gain? Total enslavement of the populace?
As a Scandinavian, I can think of quite a few.
I mean yeah, you can raid or sack the cities, but that’s not really the same as conquering/annexing territory.
there’s the Viking conquest of England, which lasted for a time. And was repelled by guerilla warfare (the medieval equivalent anyway).
But maintaining troops overseas is as hard as its ever been. Not really feasible without complete military dominance.

I mean... if the Chinese take to centuries of raiding and eventually establish dominion over Taiwan, which is lost within a lifetime, I’d say that was quite a feat.
But is that really worth it for them? How many semiconductors are sitting around to be looted anyway?

The family of a 14-year-old girl who was stabbed 25 times says she was the victim of a random attack. Police arrested a homeless man for the crime.
Fargo Police arrested 23-year-old Arthur Prince Kollie and initially charged him with attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault.
They said that surveillance video showed that Kollie had allegedly assaulted the teenager for 25 minutes before he ran away.
Kollie was later arrested and he allegedly told police that he had taken methamphetamine at noon on Thursday and hadn't slept since taking the drug. He also reportedly told them he suffers from anxiety, depression and multiple personality disorder.
Court documents said that
Kollie didn't remember assaulting the victim, but that he had fresh cuts on his hand
.
When he was charged with attempted murder, Kollie reportedly responded, "attempted murder, as is she alive? Or what? What does attempted murder mean?"
Daisy Paulsen died of her injuries on Tuesday.
Anyone who says that the world is safer now than it was before is full of shit.

I donno; I still think it's safer now. Back-in-the-day, serial killers were a much bigger deal, and assaults didn't get reported because that wasn't the culture.

They were also dealt with in a more permanent way too.

The world is safer now, which is why everyone is so soft, and needs big daddy government to take care of them.

Western culture is dominated by Pussies.
We wont even use a fraction of our arsenal to actually win a war.

Our conventional arsenal isn't going to win us any wars, even if used.
Look at all the cyber-attacks we've had, all during the Rice administration. Our own leaders can't sell us out fast enough. Americans are the frog in the boiling pot. Tik tok, streaming services, and the PS5 will keep most people content and oblivious until there is no way out. Doors already almost shut on us as a whole.
Best bet is to find where the cracks are and keep slipping through them unnoticed as best we can.

I suspect that the ‘cyber attacks’ are similar to the UFOs murder hornets and scamdemic. Just floating different distractions from the election shitshow.
