Houston man charged with trying to plant bomb at Confederate statue in Hermann Park
The park ranger spotted him kneeling in the bushes by the 112-year-old Confederate statue, explosives in hand.

Was he trying to harm the statue? she asked.

Yes, he said. He didn't like the guy.

The late-night confrontation at the statue of Confederate Lt. Dick Dowling — detailed in court records by a federal agent — led to the arrest of 25-year-old Andrew Schneck, setting off a two-day operation by law enforcement that forced the evacuation of the tony Rice University neighborhood where Schneck lives with his parents.

D'oh ................... as long as it's the local government wanting to get rid of it

Oh, here's a few more 'Local Government actions'
1.) Columbus Monument Smashed in Baltimore, they even put out their own progaganda

2.) Durham Statue to the ‘Boys Who Wore Gray’ Toppled - again they got it on film

3.) Atlanta ‘Peace’ Monument Attacked
A mob in Atlanta attacked and damaged a monument constructed in 1911. The “Peace Monument” depicts a Confederate soldier laying down his arms. The memorial wasn’t devoted to the Confederacy. It was instead built to pay tribute to unity between North and South as the Civil War generation faded from memory.

4.) Lincoln Memorial Spray Painted - The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., was defaced with spray paint.
The vandal, or vandals, painted the words “F— Law” on one of the stone columns that adorns the front of the structure.

5.) Abraham Lincoln Bust Vandalized in Chicago, Twice. A giant bust of Lincoln that had been sitting in a Chicago neighborhood for 100 years was burned and badly damaged.

6.) Father Junipero Serra Covered in Red Paint. A statue of Father Junipero Serra was plastered with red paint and the word “murder” in a Los Angeles park. Serra was a key figure in building a series of Spanish Catholic missions in California in the 1700s and was declared a saint by Pope Francis in 2015.

Let's cut the shit, these are not local governments. These are violent and intolerant people destroying things they are too stupid to understand.

1) I've denounced all the violence that has occurred during this - haven't heard you denounce the Lefty violence and intolerance once.
2) I've outright asked you if you support these violent protests, paid actors, bussing people in and you deflect. - Do you support those actions?

Two simple questions, please answer them.
1. Oh, so you are trying to do the "oh but what about you?" thing? Really, this isn't about places like Ferguson but about a place called Charlottesville, VA, where someone rammed a car into a crowd of peaceful protestors. Those places shouldn't be in this debate because then you are just trying to change the subject here? Also, I already stated my opinion a few pages back.

2. What violent protest? And who the fuck are paying these protesters- and damn if that is a job that must be really paying well since people are willing to get arrested for - then how much do you think they are paying each people?
For the record, I've denounced the car guy.

You don't get to pick ignore the violence of Berkeley, Ferguson, Dallas, and Congressional Assassination attempts because one bad whitey drove a car into a crowd. I know you're on here making this fight because you feel like for one of the few times since the election you have moral high ground. I just wish you were more consistent like BroGrump and Monte. They are solid Lefties, and I like them, because they stand up for their convictions even when they have a bad hand dealt to them.

Penner, you're the free loader that only stays at the party while the drinks are free.
But again, what do those incidents have to do with this incident? The group wasn't AntiFa and if they were, they were peaceful this time.

You don't get to decide what this thread is about! I'm not playing that game where you get to set the terms of the engagement and discussion. And just one big damn FYI, here's the OP of this thread.
From the Left wrote:North of Vancouver is a park dedicated to Jefferson Davis. In King County is a statue of Lenin. Both of these are on private party so only people who wish to destroy the Bill of Rights would venture a proposition to destroy objects on a person property.
The OP talks about multiple statues in multiple locations, this shit is not just about Charlottesville.

Well, those statues are on private property. Keep them if they want- I really don't care.

Better?

Sure, then why all the points about getting rid of the statues cause their losers?
Jeff Davis - Loser
Lenin - Loser

What's your comments on the 7 other attacks on statues I posted, Columbus, Linclon, the Peace Memorial and Father Junipero Serra ?

The answer is no. If there is no history, then you cannot repeat it.

History is its own thing. It's not really like hitting the rewind button on time at all. You might be able to say people repeated some past events that we no longer know anything about, but to repeat history, you need to have some kind of history to repeat. History is not the thing in itself. To confuse it with the past is like confusing the Mona Lisa with whatever prostitute Da Vinci paid to sit there for the painting before boning her.

Oh really?

How many civilizations have destroyed themselves because of the same thing over, and over, and over again? Just because they didn't know about the other cultures didn't mean it didn't exist.
