Re: Comey the Criminal - You're Fired
Its eery how much the 20th and 21st century mirror the events of Star Ship Troopers. Pearl Harbor, Tonkin, Invasion of South Korea, Anime, Chinese Espionage etc are metaphorically represented when the bugs sent a metorite crashing into Buenos Aires. The bugs are our enemies. They will always be our enemies. They need to be fought, down to the last man if necessary. The took out the Queen in that movie as well and the Troopers won that war in the end. There is a Johnny Rico in all of us, and in order to stop the bug threat we must be prepared to go all the way. Bugs seem scary, but they do not have our strength in culture, intellect, and martial spirit and they will be humbled in the face of American exceptionalism.

Cant just fight in the ME.
Gotta mix in some jungle war.
Sometimes a land war in Asia is just where the war is.
Everything comes around again.
Remember the USS 20th Maine.

It's impressive how you prostrate yourself before the enemies of freedom so that they won't be offended.
No doubt they appreciate your supine obsequiousness.

You really need to read the novel. The film was Hollywood's attempt at shitting on the famous novel, but fucking it up Archie Bunker-style, causing people to just love the cheese. The novel has nothing to do with the movie, really. Half of it is just a political treatise anyway.heydaralon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 5:22 pmI'm watching Starship Troopers atm.

Ain't nothing wrong with movie. Just because you like the book better and the movie isn't a super faithful adaptation doesn't mean the movie sucks. Hollywood shitting on the book my ass, Starship Troopers is a solid movie and underrated as fuck.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 8:16 pmYou really need to read the novel. 1. That post was meant for somebody else, not yourself.
2. I did not say the movie sucks. I said this particular poster would enjoy the novel.
3. Stay out of my beach community.

On the one hand the book is far deeper.
None the less, I agree with Capps, the movie has its charms.
It's Paul Veerhoven.
So it's satirical.
It's like Robocop in Space.
