Two different things. I do not support socialism and that is not how it was presented in the OP. From my view, my village are the people I collaborate with to get shit done we can't do ourselves. When my neighbor helped clear the tree in our yard that fell during Michael, it wasn't socialist. It was my village helping me because that's what neighbors do.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:03 pm
Freedom isn't the same thing as liberty; you can have freedom in a socialist village just not liberty (personal autonomy).

You view your neighbors as your allies - that's a liberty viewpoint. Socialists consider them your partners.Kath wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:08 pmTwo different things. We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND

It certainly is a brutal one: you don’t owe allies anything but what you agree to, but you share with partners.brewster wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:25 pmThat's quiet a fine hair to split there.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:10 pmYou view your neighbors as your allies - that's a liberty viewpoint. I think history is littered with allies who thought they were partners till they got dicked over. And then there's the partners who dick you over. So who's a rugged individualist to trust?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:30 pmIt certainly is a brutal one: you don’t owe allies anything but what you agree to, but you share with partners.brewster wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:25 pmThat's quiet a fine hair to split there.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 3:10 pmYou view your neighbors as your allies - that's a liberty viewpoint. Rugged individualusts trust the grit on their hands as they conquer the mountain and start a fire with a stick of wood to cook the buffalo they killed with their trusty steel knife.

No steel knife for RI unless he smelts and forges it himself. Trade is for pussies and is a direct path to collectivism.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 4:16 pmRugged individualusts trust the grit on their hands as they conquer the mountain and start a fire with a stick of wood to cook the buffalo they killed with their trusty steel knife.

Traders are parasites. They bring filthy collectivist ideas with them. The true individualist only reads the Bible and has a forge to make his own tools.brewster wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 4:33 pmNo steel knife for RI unless he smelts and forges it himself. ??? Is this justification to turn allies into partners? Liberty says no.brewster wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 4:02 pmI think history is littered with allies who thought they were partners till they got dicked over. No, I think it's justification to shoot all the fucking lawyers who think that parsing the difference between words like this makes any sense to most people. Before lawyers a deal was a deal, and if someone thought you'd screwed them you'd get an axe in the head rather than a letter from their attorney. It was a fine incentive to deal fairly.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 4:52 pm??? Is this justification to turn allies into partners?
