The NHL has done this before the owners are going to get greedy and lock the players out, again, and who will they run to for the PR? The Olympics! We don't care if it's not best on best, the IOC can't make the tournament for all the marbles, only the NHL can, if the NHL is not there, then it's a fake tournament, nobody cares, anybody who wins will be robbed of the glory, because they didn't beat the best of the best.

The NHL players make the Winter Olympics, fuck the IOC, pay the NHL. If they want way less eyeballs on the Olympics because they refuse, that's cutting off their nose to spite their face. The NHL might be greedy assholes, but the IOC still should have caved.

The IOC certainly deserves more of the blame on this one, they don't care about anything other the politics, fuck money, fuck sports, fuck entertainment, it's all about politics.

I love the Olympics, I will be watching as much as I can. NBC does a pretty good job overall their channels. Winter is more manageable, I love all the speed skating, bobsled, luge, downhill skiing, snowboard cross, basically anything that isn't judged. Even the Spengler hockey, but it is not the same.

The payers lock themselves out, I don't like a lockout, but it's all the players fault when they say no to a good deal on the table, that's on them, the players are stupid, they waste their careers sitting on sidelines, and waste our fuckin' time as well, they're getting 50% of revenues and the league has expanded to give them 50% more slots, then they want to walk away over the Olympics? Then fuck the players, they're the problem then.
