But to your ridiculous point: comparing Belgium to the entire Untied States is silly. Compare it to just New York. new York has over 25k fatalities right now. 1,297 deaths per million. Belgium only has 720 deaths per million.
Or you can just look at the total deaths and total cases and note that a third of the pandemic is attributed to just the United States and we are only a small percentage of the total population of the world.
You should compare apples to apples here. The US response is probably the worst in the developed world.

Silly me. Thinking New York is a densely populated outlier city in a low density population country, whereas Belgium is a country. I'm sure someone can find the stats for Brussels for you.
