No, I'm not a better shooter than him.
I opted for this on one my Springfield XD subcompact.

I like it, but it seems barrel-heavy when the mag is out.
With the extended mag in it feels great, and I love having 16 shots, laser, and flashlight, all in something I can almost palm with my hand.

The revolver just got a Centerfire red dot, mounted under the barrel.
Looking forward to getting it to the range after lockdown to see how it handles.
It's a perfectly nice piece of kit, tain't nothing wrong with dat

None the less, it's not about the iron, it's all about the shooter

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I kinda like the way it looks with the laser.
It's Judge Dredd-esque.

Laser.

But beyond the aesthetics, which are clearly a matter of personal tastes, I think it's a more usable weapon for an untrained shooter with the laser.
The gun weighs 13.5 oz.
The barrel is 4.74 cm (1.87").
It's a tiny gun. Hitting anything more than 20' away takes practice. My wife is a realtor, so it's a good CC piece for her, but I think adding the laser will only help her accuracy. That's the main goal.

It's your whip, ride it how you like

I'm a professional, so I take an holistic approach

Shooting is not about aiming

Shooting is like dancing

It's all about muscle memory

Weapons handling > Fancy sights

Resolve to win the firefight determines who lives, who dies, a laser is basically for use with night vision

Don't bet on the iron, bet on yourself

John Rambo Jesus knows

I've recently picked up red dot lasers for my home protection guns. It's something I've been meaning to do for a while, but haven't gotten around to until 'shelter in place' gave me some extra time to get things done. Now, I'm trained on guns so for me a laser always seemed like an added bonus but not a necessity. But I got to thinking about my wife, who is not formally firearm trained, and how she might handle a gun if she had to grab one in the middle of the night.

That's what sold me on the idea of the lasers. I figure zeroing a laser on her revolver at about 3m would be sufficient. For an indoor engagement 3m seems like a reasonable distance - you should still hit human sized targets closer or further away with enough accuracy to be effective.

But I go to these pro firearm sites and see tons of people talking shit about lasers.
"I KNOW HOW TO USE IRON SIGHTS LIKE A MAN!"
"I DON'T NEED SOME HELPER DOT TO SHOOT WELL!"
"REAL SHOOTERS DON'T NEED SPECIAL OLYMPIC POINTERS"
So on and so forth.

What gives? Why are folks hating on gun lasers? Do you use them, or are you a gun laser hater?
Ive never used a laser and can't speak to them. They seem kind of gimmicky to me tho. Trijicon nite sites are fucking rad however

Actually I'm going to try and get a wheelgun with my Trump bucks if one can still be had. I've wanted a snubby 357 forever but I will be happy with a .38 methinks.

Yeah, I got the .38, and later thought "Damn, I coulda got the .357 and still shot .38 with it".
Ah well.
Hindsight.

It's a close range gun anyway, so I'll just trust that five direct hits of .38 should be sufficient.
If not, it was obviously my time to go anyway.
