That’s suicide. Find a deli or something.

Budget. The nearly $300 stamp tax to drive my Jeep each year was a bitch.
Save A Lot. Aldis. Dollar General.

Aldis kind of sucks around here. Dollar General is good for some things, but still not better than Wallyworld.

Dude, is that Wheel Tax all Asshippie County tax? Surely the whole state of NC can't get away with that kind of shit in normie counties.

Also, Aldis is bad news. And I don't trust the meat at the Walmart so much. Bulk stuff at Sam's is not bad on the bottom line. When I got divorced is when I really learned about how grocery shopping works, though. Find a store you like and load up on the customer card points goodies and digital coupons (and get gas discounts on accumulated points). I get a pretty good deal at Kroger. But when it comes to meat, I prefer (a.) what I get on my own in the woods for the freezer, and (b.) what I get for fresh or freezer from the butcher I know personally and see every 2 or 3 weeks up by the Secure and Remote. If you know a legit butcher personally, you'll enjoy some serious IRL benefits.

Yeah, they can. I have never encountered anything like it until this month because my previous vehicle was over ten years old. It's one of the most regressive and cynical taxes I have ever seen in my life. It's literally a stamp tax that's tied to the MSRP of a vehicle that drops each year at a rate less than the vehicle actually depreciates. On top of that you are required to pay for a vehicle inspection and emissions test.

The only butchers around here not part of a grocery store chain or something like Walmart are in the Mexican town. I don't trust that meat one bit, and I probably wouldn't be able to communicate with them.

Damn that sucks. NC has an income tax also, IIRC according to my classmate in Charlotte.

So you all have state income tax, state sales tax, AND a bullshit wheel tax?

I bitch a lot (A LOT -- surprising I know) about our EXTREMELY regressive 10.75% state+local sales tax on EVERYTHING from chicken mcnuggets on up to diamond rings, but we don't have an income tax, and in my county car tags are $57.50 per year (plus the cronyist inspection fee of $10) whether you drive a 2018 F-650 or a 2004 F-150.

So, I'm thankful for that. And in a weird sort of way, I'm thankful for the yankees moving here by the hundreds per day from NY and CA; they suck but they come here with a strong motivation to serve the market and make mad stacks.

Plus, I can drive 2 hours and get totally the fuck away from them when I want to.

Nah, I have seriously thought about moving over one of the borders nearby to one of the small towns in the national forest.

I love this. And, I'm kind of surprised that it hasn't been happening for years.

America's New "Trick" To Beat Black Friday Crowds: Wear Employee Uniforms

US shoppers’ lust for Black Friday bargains this year has reached absurd new levels, evidenced by a viral joke that morphed into a disturbing new trend to help shoppers beat Wal-Mart and other big box store crowds by disguising themselves as temporary holiday employees. It started when Twitter user @OverlyLiked announcing he would be selling his Walmart vest for $100.

“I’m selling this Walmart vest for $100,” he wrote. “Use it to skip the line during Black Friday. You can even walk in, grab what you want, and walk out."

One person was shot outside a Missouri mall as swarms of shoppers looking for Black Friday deals saw chaos pop up throughout the country.
Police in Hoover, outside Birmingham, broke up fights at the Riverchase Galleria outside Birmingham, with Al.com reporting that one person was treated for injuries by paramedics.

A gun carrying society is a civil society.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Nothing like that here. It’s more a fun tradition to go play with the latest gadgets at Best Buy, bring a new dvd or card/board game home and watch it while eating round 3 of turkey.
