Small sample size, but out of the Southern CA Masters Swimming community us older men are all looking good while the women aren't doing as well.Speaker to Animals wrote:Women are getting really fat lately. It used to be that most fat people were men. Now it's like huge numbers of women have decided to blow themselves up, paint their hair blue, and dress like an orc from Lord of the Rings. Weird times.
Gay dudes are probably excited to see this trend.
This is all actually a true read of the situation, albeit sarcastic. There are ONLY TWO PARTIES. Because there is hardly any turnout, as compared to the population in general, these local meetings are being dominated by the fringe elements, which is why Dems seem so crazy. I discussed it with my wife this morning, comparing the "normal" competent men I know to the pansies who attend those meetings, and it's clear what the problem is: the dorks are exploiting the system.PartyOf5 wrote:Typical white cis male going around flaunting his white-privilege while fat-shaming women and the normally-challenged at a meeting he's not actually welcome in.
Worked for Stringer and the Barksdale crew, at least until Poot speaks up.Martin Hash wrote:Local Party politics need to be online so more of a cross-section of people participate. Places like this forum is where politics should happen, not in the back room of a pizza parlor where Robert's Rules dominate, and the most shrill voice gets the attention.
You can't be the only Democrat in Oregon who is a non-Progressive, non-SJW, Classical Liberal (or "Liberalist" as you say) more in tune with your ideal of the "Liberty Nation". Is there any possibility of you being able to gather Democratic members, start a group within the Democratic party, and use that as both a platform for change (however long that might take) within your party, but also as a stepping stone for better political coverage for yourself personally?Martin Hash wrote:This is all actually a true read of the situation, albeit sarcastic. Shrill only helps convince some. Whenever I hear people trying to blow up some small thing using extreme or hysterical language, I simply get annoyed.StCapps wrote:Worked for Stringer and the Barksdale crew.Martin Hash wrote:Local Party politics need to be online so more of a cross-section of people participate. Most competent, accomplished people I know don't want to spend Wednesday night in the back of a pizza parlor or retirement home being democratically overridden by 20 women who want special Rights. I do attract a small cadre (4 or 5 people) around me, so there probably is a strategy that would work? The fact that I don't mind losing is a great asset.BjornP wrote:You can't be the only Democrat in Oregon who is a non-Progressive, non-SJW, Classical Liberal (or "Liberalist" as you say) more in tune with your ideal of the "Liberty Nation".
